FEM introduces Antibacterial Camguard Versa Trays

Trays are an integral part of self-service meals in school, university and hospital canteens but they are often the ugly sister to the more flashy countering tabling and seating.  But trays have their part to play, and especially in the overall hygiene of any foodservice operation.

To enhance user safety and for ultimate hygiene, FEM has introduced a range of Antibacterial Camguard Versa Trays. Although specifically designed for the healthcare sector the trays are useful throughout the catering industry – wherever there could be a problem of cross contamination.

Where in the past operators have used disposable tray mats to maintain cleanliness, these new antibacterial trays contain Microban, an antibacterial silver compound that inhibits growth of bacteria between cleaning. Because it is integrated in the fabric of the tray at the point of manufacture, Microban will not wash off or wear away, even when scraped, eliminating the need for, and saving the cost of, tray mats.

Made of a high performance polyester blend, the trays can withstand temperatures from -40°C to +140°C, but they are not recommended for use in hot cupboards.  Their reinforced corners provide protection against impact, lengthening their service life and minimising chips and splits.

Dishwasher safe, they have lugs allowing easy stacking and free air circulation for fast drying. There are three different designs of antibacterial Camguard Versa Trays with, sizes from 33cm x 43cm to 53cm x 37cm.
